Villars Cave

The Cave of Villars is one of the largest underground networks in Périgord, nearly 13 km have been explored to date. The underground river has dug out immense rooms connected to each other by galleries. The infiltration waters have created a fantastic natural setting. During the guided tour, you will be able to admire impressive calcite flows, fine stalactites, gours, translucent draperies and countless stalagmites.

What did the man who painted in Villars look like? How did our ancestors hunt? Did they live deep in the caves? What animals did they live with? What did they eat? You will find the answers to all these questions by visiting the Prehistoric Garden of the Villars cave.
